بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيْم
Salam Zulkaedah,
My mistakes in this posting is of my own.
Allah SWT is Perfection.
I only have the best of intentions. The opinion put forth here is personal.
All that are beneficial comes only from Allah SWT.
SubhanAllah Walhamdulillah.
One of the concepts which is a product of secularism is the 'misguided' concept of being realistic.
it's my humble opinion.
Why is that so?
Isn't being realistic a good thing? Some may say, "sure. it's like being grounded to reality"
then one might question, "what reality?"
is "reality" is something perceivable and within our reach? within our control?
i guess so. but are we sure that everything is within our control?
how about Allah SWT? isn't God the Ultimate Reality?
have we factored Allah SWT in the scheme of things?
if we have, that covers everything then. our effort with guidance and sustenance from God.
that's the reality.
therefore, being realistic is having the belief that we shall do the best possible under the current circumstances and trusting God to guide us.
Someone may tell me that it's easy for me to say all that because i have reached a certain experience and a certain comfort zone. that's true. it's Allah SWT's will that i didn't have to go through what young graduates are going through now searching for a good start in their career - when i was starting out being in a career, which Alhamdulillah have been in this profession for 27 years already.
they way i look at it is this - pursue your studies in the field that you're inclined to, eventhough it is Engineering.
it's true that the consultancy practice, which pay is sourced from the professional fees the Practice get from Client - may not be as attractive as say, Oil & Gas (when times are good though).
don't think too much about the remuneration. think about what you're doing as an ibadah and ask from Allah SWT for guidance and sustenance.
inshaAllah.
From Surah Al-Baqarah : 153 - "O YOU who have attained to faith! Seek aid in steadfast patience and prayer: for, behold, God is with those who are patient in adversity."
From Surah Al-Baqarah : 286 - "God does not burden any human being with more than he well able to bear."
From Surah As-Sharh : 5 to 6 - "And, behold, with every hardship comes ease: verily, with every hardship comes ease!"
SubhanAllah. Walhamdulillah.
Wassalam,
